If you google the 'Turin Shroud' you will find a comprehensive account of all the trials and theories relating to what is described as the burial shroud of Jesus following his Crucifixion. You will not, however, find a single test or theory that presupposes a LIVE body despite NO evidence of decomposition being found on the shroud. Readers of this blog will know that I have an alternative theory of the Crucifixion; one in which Jesus survives the attempt on his life. see: here
Could it be that the so far unexplained staining of the linen is caused by a reaction induced by the breakdown products of the tetrodotoxins in the body and the various preserving balms applied. These breakdown products must be expelled by the living body through the skin over a three day period, giving rise to the possibility of staining the cloth in contact.
