As the election looms ever closer it seems. despite the gulf in polling statistics, that there is little to choose between the two main parties. One wonders if the gap is more to do with dissatisfaction with the Tories rather than support for the Socialists. The problems are the same and one has some sympathy for the ruling party having to negotiate the difficulties of multiple wars around the world and covid where bilions were spent supporting businesses that would otherwise have gone under. However, that said they are a lacklustre bunch headed by an unelected man who inspires no confidence whatsoever. He's a clever speaker but Sunak isn't a man one would go over the top for. However, in general the Tories do have some competent members. Listen to the Youtube clip from a few years ago demonstrating the gulf in quality between Penny Mordaunt and Angel Rayner.
In my blog of July 2021 I propose that the Tories look to their ladies for leadership. After the forthcoming election, they may have no other choice.
